How to Request a New Network Port or Drop

If you need a new Ethernet port installed or activated, follow these steps to submit a request. 

Steps to Request a Network Drop 

     1. Identify the Location 

a. Note the room number, desk, or wall where the port is needed. 

     2. Specify the Purpose 

a. Indicate whether it’s for a workstation, printer, VoIP phone, etc. 

     3. Submit a Request 

a. Use your help desk portal or email IT with the details. 

     4. Schedule Installation 

a. Coordinate with facilities or IT for access and timing.
