How to Clear Your Browser Cache for a Website

Over time, your browser stores cached versions of websites to help them load faster. However, outdated or corrupted cache data can cause display issues, login errors, or prevent you from seeing updates. Follow the steps below to clear your browser cache.

Select the browser you are using:

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
  4. Select “Cached images and files” (you can uncheck the others if needed).
  5. Set Time range to “All time” or a shorter duration.
  6. Click Clear data.

Quick Shortcut:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the three-line menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
  4. Scroll to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  5. Click Clear Data…
  6. Select “Cached Web Content” and click Clear.

Quick Shortcut:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
  4. Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
  5. Select “Cached images and files”.
  6. Click Clear now.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click Safari in the menu bar and choose Preferences.
  3. Go to the Privacy tab.
  4. Click Manage Website Data…
  5. Search for the website or click Remove All.
  6. Click Done.

To Enable Developer Menu for Full Cache Clearing:

  • Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and check “Show Develop menu in menu bar”.
  • Then go to Develop > Empty Caches.
