Publishing blog posts is a key way to share news, updates, and valuable content on your website. Follow these steps to create and publish a blog post using the WordPress admin dashboard.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log In to Your WordPress Admin Dashboard
- Open your browser and go to https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin (replace with your site’s address). Enter your username and password to log in.
- Go to the Posts Section
- From the left-hand menu, click Posts > Add New.
- Enter Your Post Title
- At the top of the page, enter the title of your blog post.
- Add Your Content
- Use the default WordPress editor or click Advanced Layout Editor (Avia Layout Builder) below the title to create a more customized layout.
- When using Avia Layout Builder, add content by inserting Avia Elements like text blocks, images, buttons, and videos.
- You can mix simple text with advanced elements for a richer post design.
- Set Categories and Tags (Optional)
- On the right sidebar, assign categories and tags to organize your post. Categories group similar posts; tags add specific keywords.
- Set a Featured Image (Optional)
- In the sidebar, click Featured Image to upload or select an image that represents your post.
- Preview Your Post
- Click the Preview button to see how your post will look when published.
- Publish Your Post
- When ready, click the Publish button. Confirm by clicking Publish again in the popup.
Editing or Updating a Post
- To edit a published post, go to Posts > All Posts, find your post, and click Edit.
- You can use the default editor or the Avia Layout Builder to make changes.
- After editing, click Update to save.
