How to Add Meta Titles and Descriptions in WordPress

Meta titles and descriptions are important for search engine optimization (SEO) because they help search engines understand your page content and improve how your site appears in search results. With the Yoast SEO plugin, adding them is simple.

1. Login into your WordPress Admin Dashboard by going to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.
2. Open the page or post you want to edit.
3. Scroll down to the Yoast SEO Section
4. Add a Meta Title. In the meta title field, create a short title. Here are some general recommendations:
