How to Report a Cabling Issue in a New Installation

If a newly installed cable isn’t working, it may be miswired or damaged. 

Steps to Report a Cabling Issue 

     1. Label the Problem Area 

a. Use tape or tags to mark the affected jack or cable. 

     2. Test with Multiple Devices 

a. Confirm it’s not device-specific. 

     3. Document the Issue 

a. Note location, cable ID, and symptoms. 

     4. Take Photos (if possible) 

a. Include images of the jack, patch panel, or termination. 

     5. Ready to report?
