How to Fix SharePoint “Access Denied” Errors

If you see “Access Denied” when trying to open a SharePoint site or document, it’s usually a permissions issue. 

Steps to Resolve Access Denied 

     1. Confirm Your Account 

a. Make sure you’re signed in with the correct Microsoft 365 account. 

     2. Try Incognito Mode 

a. Open the link in a private/incognito browser window to rule out cookie issues. 

     3. Request Access 

a. Click the Request Access button if available. 

b. Contact the site owner or your IT team for permission. 

     4. Clear Browser Cache 

a. Clear cookies and cache, then try again.
