How to Fix Black Screen
When going to use your computer, if the screen is black or you have no video after trying to get the device to turn on, you can follow the following steps.
- Verify the display has power. This can be done by verifying the display has a cable going from a surge protector or the wall into the back of it.
- Reset the switch on the surge protector.
- Ensure there is a power light. Each display has a power button, typically on the bottom right corner of the screen, however some displays move it to the back right or middle of the display. Ensure the power button is hit, with text showing up on the display after doing so.
- Verify the video cable going to the device or connection you’re wanting to use is securely connected.
- Verify input on the display. Each display has a option to change Input. Verify it is set to the input that your device is connected to it with.
- Hit the power button or power cycle the machine the display is connected to.
- Try a different outlet or surge protector.
- If the issue persist, please use the Windows key and search ‘View your PC Name’.
- Call into the help desk and relay the PC name to the Concierge on the other end for further support.
