How Do I Post a Blog Post in WordPress?

Publishing blog posts is a key way to share news, updates, and valuable content on your website. Follow these steps to create and publish a blog post using the WordPress admin dashboard.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log In to Your WordPress Admin Dashboard

Open your browser and go to https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin (replace with your site’s address). Enter your username and password to log in.

  2. Go to the Posts Section

From the left-hand menu, click Posts > Add New.

  3. Enter Your Post Title

At the top of the page, enter the title of your blog post.

  4. Add Your Content

    • Use the default WordPress editor or click Advanced Layout Editor (Avia Layout Builder) below the title to create a more customized layout.

    • When using Avia Layout Builder, add content by inserting Avia Elements like text blocks, images, buttons, and videos.

    • You can mix simple text with advanced elements for a richer post design.

  5. Set Categories and Tags (Optional)

On the right sidebar, assign categories and tags to organize your post. Categories group similar posts; tags add specific keywords.

  6. Set a Featured Image (Optional)

In the sidebar, click Featured Image to upload or select an image that represents your post.

  7. Preview Your Post

Click the Preview button to see how your post will look when published.

  8. Publish Your Post

When ready, click the Publish button. Confirm by clicking Publish again in the popup.

Editing or Updating a Post

  • To edit a published post, go to Posts > All Posts, find your post, and click Edit.

  • You can use the default editor or the Avia Layout Builder to make changes.

  • After editing, click Update to save.
